Our Member Spotlight from the February 16th Meeting was Dan Duren.  Dan grew up in Columbus Nebraska.  He has three beautiful daughters that he is very proud of, and will become a grandfather in June.  He has had a very successful career with Benefit Management, and is very involved in the community.  When not working or serving Dan enjoys working out (he's a madman!), golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Celene DeStefano Kuhlmann will be sharing her story and information about Health & Wellness.

On March 30th we will be building Easter Baskets as we have in the past.  We are seeking donations for this service event.  You can also help out by writing out Cards of Encouragement - these can be small little notes we include in the basket with a positive inspirational message.  More information will be coming out over the next couple of weeks as we prepare for this service project.

For this quarter's rotary service project we will be creating Plarn to assist Becky Topil in creating her beds for the Homeless / Peoples City Mission. We'll be "Plarning" on February 2. Our goal is to make at least 3 - 350 bag Plarn Balls.

 

Bags that can be used are any recyclable bags with handles, such as Menard's, Target, Walmart, or any grocery store.  

 

Becky has a goal to reach 100 beds, and she's nearly a quarter of the way there.  She said that having plarn balls made is a great help in getting the beds constructed, as she "hand-crochets" each bed with love.

Our meetings are still being held at the same time, 6-7:00pm every other Tuesday with the speaker beginning at 6:15pm.
